We were anchored on a small sandbar in Marathon last week and met some friendly faces from our small city of Sebastian who recognized the Sandbar Sunday logo on our boat. It's not the first time it's happened, yet it never gets old and we are always happy to meet new friends.
If we're lucky enough to have good weather on a weekend and cruise the Sebastian or Fort Pierce sandbars, we are starting to see Sandbar Sunday shirts, hats and koozies. We are getting waves and shouts from people we've met at festivals or who have seen our boat in the 4th of July and Christmas parades in town. Each time it happens, I am jolted by the realization that our little brand just might be catching on.
Sandbar Sunday isn't just about spending a day on the water. It's about the friends and family that meet up to spend the day together. It's about the people you meet on the sandbar - the comradery that naturally exists between people who share the same passion.
This has got me thinking about the grassroots nature of growing a brand. For Sandbar Sunday to be successful, it has to start at home. We love Sebastian and Indian River County and want to show our appreciation for the support we've received in our short time in business. Not only are we giving back to the community by sponsoring local events, we will now be offering a discount of 10% to all Sebastian locals (use code LOCAL) as well as free personal delivery to anyone with a Sebastian area address. This includes the following zip codes: 32958, 32948, 32957, and 32967.
As a veteran owned company, we also offer a permanent 10% discount to veterans as a small way to say thank you for your service (Use code VETERAN).
Jim and I would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to our past and future customers. We appreciate you!
Please be sure to give us a wave on the sandbar!

When I think about Sandbar Sunday, or boaters in general, I think about America. I don't care what sandbar you're on, American flags are flying on nearly every boat. This is something I've thought about a lot in a year that seems filled with anything but patriotism.
The sandbar is a place where we can get away from social media, biased news, and mask mandates; it's a place where (mostly) like-minded people can forget about politics and which cartoon character is being banned for offending someone, and focus on what matters to us: family, friends, water, sun, music and being a proud American.
It is this vision of the sandbar that inspired our new shirt design. Launching at the Shrimfest in Sebastian this weekend, the new design features an image of a day on the sandbar, complete with all of the things we love about Sandbar Sunday, but most importantly, it captures the patriotism that lives in our hearts.

]]>BUT, while we may not have made a mound of cash, we were given something far more valuable...the encouragement and support of Sandbar Sunday lovers! We were reminded that there are so many people out there, from all across the country and world, that have experienced Sandbar Sunday and understand it's allure. We were entertained with stories of sandbar shenanigans far and wide, from Torch Lake, Michigan, to Tahiti Beach, Bahamas, to Lake Havasu in Arizona and of course, our very own Sebastian Inlet sandbar. So many of you (like us) spend your workweek dreaming of the next Sunday Funday when you can join your friends and family out on the sandbar for a day of sun, music, laughter and maybe (just maybe) a little beer.
So thank you to those of you who have posted on social media, sent emails of encouragement or have stopped by to see us at festivals. Your support is priceless and we greatly appreciate it!
And most of all, thank you for reminding us of what Sandbar Sunday is all about: camaraderie, a love of all things sandbar, and a quality brand that unites both.
]]>While spending a day at the Sebastian Inlet sandbar, in Florida, Aimee and Jim watched from the boat as their friends stood talking in the water, their teenagers lounged on floats without phones in hand, and the younger kids hunted hermit crabs on the sandbar. At that moment, they realized that no matter what sandbar you're on, Sandbar Sunday is a way of life that should be shared with others.
Since then, Aimee and Jim have worked hard to create a quality brand that encompasses all things Sandbar. From comfortable and stylish apparel to tumblers, hats and koozies, Sandbar Sunday Outfitters strives to make your Sunday Funday more than just a day on the water.
